The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest made in an Assault investigation.
On Sunday, July 16, 2023, at 1:38 a.m., police received a call for an Assault in the Yonge Street and Gerrard Street East area.
It is alleged that:
- a Parking Enforcement Officer was conducting enforcement in the area
- the Parking Enforcement Officer was in the process of issuing a violation notice to an illegally parked vehicle
- the accused drove his vehicle toward the victim, unprovoked
- as the Parking Enforcement Officer stepped back, the accused steered toward the officer numerous time
- the accused then drove off
Shahfaisal Qureshi, 20, of Toronto, has been arrested and charged with:
- Assault Peace Officer While Threatening to use Intimidation of a Weapon
He is scheduled to appear in court at Ontario Court of Justice, 10 Armoury Street, on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at 11 a.m., in room 203.
