Sexual Assault Alert, Yonge Street and Gerrard Street area, Man Wanted

The Toronto Police Service is alerting the public to a sexual assault and requests assistance in identifying and locating the man wanted.
It has been reported that:
- Tuesday, July 30, 2019, at approximately 2:30 a.m., a woman was in the McGill Parkette near the Gerrard Street and Yonge Street area
- a man approached the woman and struck her on the head with a piece of concrete
- the man produced a knife and sexually assaulted the woman
- passersby in the area confronted the man and the suspect fled the scene
The woman sustained injuries and was transported to hospital by paramedics.
The suspect is described as 6', mid to late 20s, thin build and short black hair. He was wearing a red short-sleeve shirt, black track pants with white vertical stripes, black and white sneakers and a black backpack.
