Two men arrested, face 38 charges, Two firearms seized, Sherbourne Street and Dundas Street East area and Jarvis Street and Gerrard Street East area

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an investigation in which two men have been arrested and two firearms seized.
It is alleged that:
- on Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at approximately 8 p.m., officers from 51 Division were on general patrol in the Sherbourne Street and Dundas Street East area.
- the officers became involved in an investigation of a vehicle with two occupants in a parking lot in the area
- a quantity of crack cocaine was seized along with a quantity of ammunition for a handgun
The investigation continued and a search warrant was authorized to search a hotel room in the Jarvis Street and Gerrard Street East area
It is further alleged that:
- a search of the hotel room located two handguns, a prohibited suppression device "silencer," $8,000 in Canadian currency and ammunition for two handguns
On Tuesday, June 26, 2018, Jonathan Monette, 23, of Quebec, was arrested. He is charged with:
1) three counts of Fail to Comply Recognizance
2) two counts of Careless Storage of Ammunition
3) two counts of Possession prohibited ammunition
4) two counts of Possession of a Firearm Knowing Its Possession is Unauthorized
5) two counts of Careless Storage of a Firearm
6) Possession of a Loaded Firearm
7) two counts of Possession of prohibited firearm
8) Alter Serial Number on Firearm
9) two counts of Weapons Dangerous
10) Possession of prohibited device
11) Possession of a Firearm While Prohibited
On Tuesday, June 26, 2018, Charles Boucher-Savard, 29, of Quebec, was arrested. He is charged with:
1) Possession of a Schedule 1 substance
2) two counts of Careless Storage of Ammunition
3) two counts of Possession prohibited ammunition
4) two counts of Possession of a Firearm Knowing Its Possession is Unauthorized
5) two counts of Careless Storage of a Firearm
6) Possession of a Loaded Firearm
7) two counts of Possession of prohibited firearm
8) Alter Serial Number on Firearm
9) two counts of Weapons Dangerous
10) Possession of prohibited device
11) three counts of Possession of a Firearm While Prohibited
They were both scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, 10 a.m., room 103.
It is further alleged that police seized:
- Walther PPK .32 calibre pistol with ammunition
- .38 calibre revolver
- prohibited suppression device "silencer"
