The Toronto Police Service is making the public aware of an arrest made in a Homicide investigation.
On Sunday, May 12, 2024, at approximately 10:24 a.m., police responded to a call for a wounding in the Dalhousie Street and Shuter Street area.
It is reported that:
- a 50-year-old man was located with serious injuries
- life-saving measures were performed and the man was transported to hospital
- the man later succumbed to his injuries and passed away in hospital
The victim was identified as Jamie Richardson, 50, of Toronto.

On Sunday, May 12, 2024, Joseph Anthony Emery, 50, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:
- Second Degree Murder
He is scheduled to appear at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Monday, May 13, 2024, at 10 a.m., in room 106.
