Man arrested in Forcible Confinement investigation, Wallace Walter Pleasant, 59, faces charges

The Toronto Police would like to make the public aware of an arrest made in an investigation into two separate incidents involving Forcible Confinement.

It is alleged that:

- on Friday, February 1, 2019, at 11:52 a.m., Police responded to a call for a Sexual Assault in a unit of a residential building in the Bleecker Street and Earl Street area

- officers attended and found a woman inside of a unit where she was held against her will and was unable to leave

- she was taken to hospital

Later on the same day, Wallace Walter Pleasant, 59, of Toronto was located and arrested. He has been charged with:

1. Forcible confinement
2. Sexual Assault

He appeared in court on Saturday, February 2, 2019, at 9:00 a.m., at Old City Hall. He was released by the court on a recognizance.

It is further alleged that:

- on Tuesday February 5, 2019, at 9:52 a.m. Police responded the a call for an Unknown Trouble at the same address

- responding officers located another woman in the residence, who was being held against her will

- the male suspect, Wallace Walter Pleasant, 59, of Toronto, was also in the residence. He was arrested and charged with:

1. Forcible confinement
2. Two counts of Assault
3. Assault causing bodily harm

He is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at College Park Courts, at 10 a.m.
