On Wednesday, March 6, 2013, a man was arrested in the Queen Street East/Ontario Street area and charged with firearm-related offences.
It is alleged that:
- police saw a man with a gun and pursued the man on foot
- after a perimeter was established, a member of the public contacted police with information that assisted officers narrow their search
- the man was subsequently located, hiding in a garage
- a loaded handgun was located and seized
Nadder Mohamed, 19, of Toronto, is charged with:
1. Possession for the Purpose Marihuana
2. Contravention of Storage Regulations Made Under the Firearms Act
3. Careless Storage of a Firearm
4. Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
5. Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
6. Possession of a Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
7. Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order
8. Possession of Firearm Obtained by the Commission of an Offence
9. Weapons Dangerous
Nadder Mohamed was scheduled to appear in court at College Park on Thursday, March 7, 2013, at 10 a.m.
