In 1996 the Volunteer Centre of Toronto created an innovative consumer fraud education and prevention program called the ABCs of Fraud®. This program provides information and tips on identifying and preventing consumer fraud victimization. Our volunteers work hard to raise awareness about frauds in the community.
In 2008 the Crime Prevention Association of Toronto (CPAT) added ABCs of Fraud® to its portfolio of successful programming. The program compliments our efforts to prevent crime in the community. Speakers provide information about scams, how to recognize them, steps to help protect yourself and what to do if you are a victim of a scam. ABC's of Fraud is a program delivered by trained volunteer presenters who provide information and tips on identifying and preventing consumer fraud.
