The Toronto Police Service would like to update the public on two Assault with a Weapon investigations.

On Friday, December 9, 2022 at 7:30 a.m., police received a call for a stabbing in the Dundas Street East and Victoria Street area. 

It is alleged that:

• the victim was standing outside
• the suspect approached the victim from behind
• the suspect slashed the victim in the face with an edged weapon unprovoked
• the suspect fled the scene on foot

On Sunday, December 11, 2022 at 5:45 a.m., police recieved a call for a stabbing in Yonge Street and Adelaide Street area . 

It is alleged that: 

• the victim was asleep outside
• the suspect approached the victim
• the suspect slashed the victim in the face with an edged weapon unprovoked 
• the suspect then fled the area

On Tuesday, December 13, 2022, a man was arrested.

Matthew McLellan, 21, of Toronto will be charged with:

1. two counts of Aggravated Assault
2. two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Weapon

Court date is pending.
