Building Safer Communities Together: Inside 51 Division’s Latest Safety Walk

As part of Ontario’s Crime Prevention Week, 51 Division’s recent Safety Walk brought together a diverse cross-section of the community—including local residents, business owners, Business Improvement Areas (BIAs), and resident associations—alongside Neighbourhood Community Officers (NCOs) and the Community Response Unit.

Reflecting a city-wide momentum seen across multiple TPS divisions over the past week to strengthen grassroots trust and proactive engagement, participants took to the streets for open, thoughtful dialogue. These collaborative walks provide a vital platform to address local safety priorities, share critical crime-prevention resources, and build meaningful, lasting connections that help community-based policing thrive.
