The Toronto Police Service is alerting the public to a sexual assault investigation.

On Sunday, March 13, 2022, at 12:25 a.m., a 34-year-old man was at a bar in the area of Church Street and Wellesley Street East.

It has been reported that:
- while inside the bar, a man sexually assaulted the man

Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect.

Security images have been released.

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance locating a missing man.

Scott Storm, 21, was last seen on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. in the Gerrard Street East and Parliament Street area.

He is described as male, 5’7, 175 lbs., slim build, shaved head, clean shaven. He was last seen wearing a blue or jacket, camouflage pants, red t-shirt, and black boots.

Police are concerned for his safety.

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an ongoing taxi scam investigation.

It is reported that:
- a vehicle resembling a taxi is parked in a high traffic area
- one suspect poses as the taxi driver and another poses as a customer
- the two suspects pretend to have a loud argument, with the taxi driver refusing to take cash due to COVID-19
- the unsuspecting victim, overhears the argument, and offers to help by letting the suspect use their debit card to pay for the cab fare in exchange for cash
- the victim enters the PIN number for their debit card into a modified point of sale terminal
- the device records the card data and PIN number
- after the transaction is successful, the victim is given another bank card that resembles their own, and the victim accepts the cash from one suspect before leaving
- the suspects are now in possession of the victim's debit card and use the PIN to make a number of fraudulent purchases and/or withdrawals


The Toronto Police Service would like to remind the public to be vigilant when using any type of public transport that results in debit or credit card transactions. Some tips include:

- do not leave your debit or credit card unattended inside a Point of Sale terminal anywhere or at any time
- be aware of taxi numbers and company names when using their services
- be aware of the driver's identification that is displayed to the customer in clear view in the rear of the cab
- do not make payments for an unknown person, using your personal card, in exchange for cash
- inspect your card after each transaction and ensure it is your card
- cover your fingers when entering your PIN

Anyone who has information, or believes they have been a victim of a taxi scam, is urged to contact police.

The procession will start from Bloor Street West and St. George Street, and continue along Bloor Street, then south on Yonge Street, west on Queen Street West to Nathan Phillips Square.

Full road closures will take place on Bloor Street, Yonge Street, and Queen Street. A number of secondary roads will also be closed or partially closed, affecting traffic flow in the area.

• Devonshire Place from Bloor Street West to Hoskin Avenue

The Toronto Police would like to notify the public about several suspected overdoses in the downtown core.

Between Friday, March 4 and Monday, March 7, 2022, police responded to four separate sudden deaths as a result of drug overdoses within 51 Division.

In the same time frame, emergency services also responded to nine separate incidents of suspected drug overdoses.

It is believed all of the overdoses and deaths are linked to the use of fentanyl being distributed in the downtown core of the city. This is being investigated and in each case the fentanyl was described as being either pink or blue in colour.

The Toronto Police Service wants to remind people that if they are taking drugs, including fentanyl, to use extreme caution and do not take them alone.

If anyone suffers serious illness after consuming a narcotic, they should attend a hospital emergency room, call 9-1-1, or go to a walk-in clinic immediately for treatment. The Toronto Police Service is investigating a fatal collision.

On Sunday, March 6, 2022, at approximately 3:21 p.m., officers responded to a call for a collision in the Bond Street and Dundas Street East area.

It is reported that:
- a 59-year-old man was driving a black 2021 Ford SUV out of a parking lot onto Bond Street
- a 45-year-old man was sitting on the sidewalk on the east side of Bond Street, south of Dundas Street East
- the man was struck by the SUV on the sidewalk suffering serious injuries
- he was transported to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries

The investigation is ongoing by members of Traffic Services.

Police are asking local residents, businesses and drivers, who may have security or dash camera footage of the area or incident, to contact investigators.
