Four TPS officers charged

Four Toronto Police Service officers have been charged.
1. Constable Jeffrey Tout, 41, has 17 years’ service and is assigned to 55 Division.
It is alleged that:
- he provided false court testimony
On Thursday, January 28, 2016, Constable Tout was charged with:
- two counts of Obstruct Justice
- two counts of Perjury
He is scheduled to appear in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West on Friday, March 11, 2016, 1:30 p.m., room 202
2. Detective Constable Benjamin Elliott, 32, has nine years’ service and is assigned to 55 Division.
It is alleged that:
- he provided false court testimony
On Thursday, January 28, 2016, Detective Constable Elliott was charged with:
- three counts of Obstruct Justice
- three counts of perjury
He is scheduled to appear in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West on Friday, March 11, 2016, 1:30 p.m., room 202
3. Constable Michael Taylor, 34, has 11 years’ service and is assigned to 51 Division.
It is alleged that:
- he provided false court testimony
On Thursday, January 28, 2016, Constable Taylor was arrested and charged with:
- two counts of Obstruct Justice
- Perjury
He is scheduled to appear in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West on Friday, March 11, 2016, 1:30 p.m., room 202
4. Detective Constable Fraser Douglas, 37, has 14 years’ service and is assigned to 55 Division.
It is alleged that:
- he provided false court testimony
On Thursday, January 28, 2016, Detective Constable Douglas was arrested and charged with:
- two counts of Obstruct Justice
- two counts of Perjury
He is scheduled to appear in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West on Friday, March 11, 2016, 1:30 p.m., room 202
The charges arise from the arrest of Nguyen Son Tran on January 15, 2014. The investigation was carried out by TPS Professional Standards.
