Update in death investigation, Dundas Street East at Regent Street, Now Homicide #50/2013, Jeffery Mark, 40, charged with manslaughter

On Friday, November, 1, 2013, at 5:52 a.m., police responded to a report of a personal injury collision at Dundas Street East at Regent Street, in which a man was struck by a vehicle.

In the course of the investigation, officers determined that the matter related to an altercation in the area prior to the collision.

It is alleged that:

- two men were involved in an altercation

- as a result of the altercation, a man was rendered unconscious on the roadway of Dundas Street East

- a vehicle traveling on Dundas Street East struck the unconscious man

- that man died a result of his injuries

The deceased man has been identified as Yassin Obsien, 31, of Toronto. The Homicide Squad took carriage of the investigation on November 1, 2013.

Jeffery Mark, 40 , of Courtice, Ontario, was arrested on Saturday, November 2, 2013, and has been charged with:

1) manslaughter

He was scheduled to appear in court at College Park on Wednesday November 6, 2013, at 9 a.m.
