MADD Toronto Chapter Project Red Ribbon - Safety Campaign Launch

Monday, November 4, 2013 - 4:00 PM
Traffic Services:  416-808-1900

The President of the Toronto Chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), Everilda Ratnakumar, will launch the annual Project Red Ribbon Campaign on Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at 10 a.m., in the front lobby of Toronto Police headquarters located at 40 College Street.

According to MADD, every year, between 1,250 and 1,500 Canadians are killed and more than 63,000 are injured in impairment-related crashes.

Impaired driving continues to be a leading criminal cause of death in Canada. There are far too many people killed and injured on our roads every day due to what is a totally preventable crime.

There will be greetings from The Honourable Glen Murray, Minister of Transportation; Chief William Blair, Toronto Police Service; Chief Superintendent Don Bell, Ontario Provincial Police, Highway Safety Division; Deputy Chief Cindy Nicholson, Toronto Emergency Medical Services; and Chief Jim Sales, Toronto Fire Service.

Help us have a great holiday season by encouraging people to be responsible and drive safe and sober.

The conference will be available on the Bell TOC in HD/SDI.
