The Toronto Police Service would like to advise the public of a homicide investigation.
It is alleged that:
- on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at 8:14 p.m., a man was located with injuries in the Ontario Street and Shuter Street area.
- the man was transported to hospital by medics
- he succumbed to his injuries in hospital
- police were notified that the man's injuries were from a stabbing and commenced an investigation
- Homicide has taken carriage of the investigation
The victim's name is not being released at this time as next of kin has not been notified.
On Sunday, April 3, 2022, a man was arrested.
Shamar James, 30, of Toronto has been charged with:
1. Second Degree Murder
He was scheduled to attend College Park Court on Monday, April 4, 2022, at 10 a.m., in room 507.
Investigators are asking witnesses, or anyone driving in the area at the time who have dash camera footage to contact police.
