Suspect sought in break and enter investigation, Adelaide Street East and Berkeley Street area, Security images released

The Toronto Police Service requests the public's assistance identifying a suspect as part of a break and enter investigation.

It is reported that:

- on Thursday, July 9, 2020, a man attempted to gain entry into a property in the Adelaide Street East and Berkeley Street area

- the incident was captured on a home security camera system

- after failing to get into the home, the man fled and proceeded to break into another property in the area

- nothing was stolen

Images of the suspect have been released in a bid to identify him. Anyone who recognizes the man, or has any information about the break ins, is urged to call police.

Community action leads to five arrests, Two loaded handguns and drugs recovered

Five people have been arrested as part of a drugs investigation in the Regent Park area.

On Friday, July 17, 2020, 51 Division Neighbourhood Community Officers - who cover Regent Park - received information from the public about drug activity in the area.

An investigation was launched and five individuals have been arrested. It is alleged two loaded handguns and illicit drugs were also recovered.

51 Division would like to thank the public for their help in bringing this investigation to the point of arrests and charges.

Kal Tekolla, 23, of Toronto, George Legault, 23, of Toronto, Rondell Solomon, 20, of Ajax, Dawit Solomon, 23, of Toronto, and a 16-year-old boy, of Toronto, were all arrested and charged jointly with:

1) Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Knowing its Possession is Prohibited
2) Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
3) Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
4) Careless Storage of a Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device, or Ammunition
5) Careless Storage of a Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device, or Ammunition
6) Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
7) Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Knowing its Possession is Prohibited
8) Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
9) Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
10) Careless Storage of a Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device, or Ammunition
11) Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
12) Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
13) Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
14) Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition in a Motor Vehicle
15) Possession of Schedule I Substance For the Purpose of Trafficking CDSA 5(2) - Fentanyl
16) Possession of Schedule I Substance For the Purpose of Trafficking CDSA 5(2) - Crystal Methamphetamine
17) Possession of Schedule I Substance For the Purpose of Trafficking CDSA 5(2) - Powder Cocaine
18) Possession of Schedule I Substance For the Purpose of Trafficking CDSA 5(2) - Oxycodone
19) Possession for the purpose of Selling Cannabis - Cannabis Act 10(2)
20) Possession of proceeds of crime under $5000

They were all scheduled to appear at Old City Hall, on Saturday, July 18, 2020, at 10 a.m., in room 114.

The investigation remains ongoing and anyone with any information is urged to contact police.

The Toronto Police Service requests the public's assistance locating a man wanted for a number of break and enter investigations throughout the city.

Richard Alexis, 35, of Toronto, is wanted for:

1. 3 counts of Possession of Property Obtained by crime over $5000
2. 1 count Flight while pursued by Peace Officer
3. 1 count Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance
4. 3 counts Fail to Comply Probation

He is described as: 5'10", 182 lbs., brown eyes, short black hair. If you know of his whereabouts, please contact police.

On Saturday, July 18, 2020, at approximately 9:20 a.m., police attended the area of Queen’s Park in regards to a Mischief.

It is alleged that:

- a man and two women were seen vandalizing a statue and surrounding concrete embankments in the area of Bond Street and Gould Street

- they left the area and police were called

It is further alleged that:

- police located the van at Queen’s Park

- a woman got out of the van, taking tubs of paint, and joined a crowd of people

- two men were located in the van, they were covered in paint

All three were arrested.

Police seized tubs of paint, spray paint, sidewalk chalk, stencils and rope from the van.

Daniel Gooch, 35, of Toronto, was charged with:

1. Three counts of Mischief Under $5,000
2. Conspiracy To Commit a Summary Offence

Danielle Smith, 47, of Toronto, was charged with:

1. Three counts of Mischief Under $5,000
2. Conspiracy To Commit a Summary Offence

Jenna Reid, 35, of Toronto, was charged with:

1. Three counts of Mischief Under $5,000
2. Conspiracy To Commit a Summary Offence

All three were provided access to counsel.

Daniel Gooch, and Danielle Smith have been released on a Promise to Appear.

Jenna Reid has been held for a Show Cause and will appear in court, on Sunday, July 19, 2020, at Old City Hall courts.

The Toronto Police Service would like to inform the public of arrests made in a gun and drug investigation.

On Tuesday, June 30, 2020, at approximately 3 p.m., officer were patrolling Moss Park.

It is alleged that:

- officers saw a drug transaction between two men

- the men were arrested and a quantity of fentanyl was seized

- also seized was a loaded Smith & Wesson .40 calibre semi-automatic firearm

- a tent in the park was being used to prepare and sell drugs

Matthew Stewart, 20, of Mississauga, is charged with:

1. Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
2. Possession of a Firearm Knowing Its Possession is Unauthorized
3. Possession of a Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
4. Possess Prohibited/Restricted Weapon Knowing No Authority
5. Careless Storage of a Firearm
6. Carry Concealed Weapon
7. Possess Weapon Dangerous to Public Peace
8. Three counts of Possession for the Purpose of a Schedule I Substance
9. Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under $5000
10. Seven counts of Fail to Comply with Probation
11. Possession of a Firearm While Prohibited

He will appear in court, at Old City Hall, on Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at 10 a.m., in room 101.

Rebecca Parades, 20, of Mississauga, is charged with:

1. Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
2. Possession of a Firearm Knowing Its Possession is Unauthorized
3. Possession of a Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
4. Possess Prohibited/Restricted Weapon Knowing No Authority
5. Careless Storage of a Firearm
6. Carry Concealed Weapon
7. Possess Weapon Dangerous to Public Peace
8. Three counts of Possession for the Purpose of a Schedule I Substance
9. Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under $5,000

She will appear in, court at Old City Hall, on Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at 10 a.m., in room 101.

Gabriel Nanie, 18, of Toronto, is charged with:

1. Possession for the Purpose of a Schedule I Substance
2. Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under $5,000
3. Carry Concealed Weapon
4. Possess Weapon Dangerous to Public Peace
5. Eight counts of Fail to Comply Probation

He will appear in court, at Old City Hall, on Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at 10 a.m., in room 101.

It is further alleged that, during the investigation, officers seized:

- 25 grams of Fentanyl
- 6.81 grams of Cocaine
- $822 dollars

Officers will continue to perform regular patrols of this area in response to numerous complaints from the community.
