Assistance sought in Stolen Dog investigation, Toronto Humane Society, Christopher Rich, 31, wanted for Theft, His photograph is attached

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance a Theft of a Dog investigation.

It is reported that:

- A man attended the Toronto Humane Society, located at 11 River Street on three separate occasions and demanded that he be given a dog for free

- he was turned away each time

- on Friday, August 9, 2019, at 11:30 a.m., the man returned to the shelter, walked directly to the kennels, leashed a dog, and walked out the front door with the dog.

- the man and dog were last seen on an eastbound GO Train, exiting at Oshawa station later the same day

The Humane Society reported the incident to police, and posted the incident and photographs on to social media. With the assistance of the public, the man has been identified as Christopher Rich, 31, of no fixed address.

He is wanted for:

1) Theft under $5,000

The dog is described as a 10 month old, tan coloured, retriever/hound mix, named Milo. Milo is microchipped and neutered.
