Sexual Assault Alert Police asking witnesses to come forward

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a sexual assault that occurred on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at approximately 3 p.m.

It is reported that:

- a 33-year-old woman was walking on Wellesley Street East, approaching Homewood Avenue

- a man grabbed the woman from behind and sexually assaulted her

- the man fled eastbound on Wellesley Street East

- the assault was witnessed by other pedestrians in the area

The man is described as possibly white with a dark complexion or brown with a light complexion, between 20 - 40, approximately 5'5", with a thin build and a very slight moustache. He wore a three-quarter-length dark green, bulky, nylon winter jacket with a hood, possibly fur-trimmed, and light grey pants.

Police are interested in speaking with anyone who witnessed the assault, especially the woman who approached the victim to check on her well-being.
