On Sunday, May 12, 2024, Canada Running Series will be hosting their Annual Sporting Life10K Run.

In preparation for the event, Yonge Street will close between Eglinton Avenue and Davisville Avenue beginning at 4 a.m. 

At 6:30 a.m., road closures for the run route will commence. Road closures include:

  • Start Formation Area: 4 a.m., to 11 a.m.: Yonge Street, full road, from Eglinton Avenue to Davisville Avenue
  • Start Line will close at 9 a.m. and teardown will go until 11 a.m.

10K Race Start Times:

  • 7:25 a.m.: wheelchair athletes
  • 7:30 a.m. to 7:35a.m.:first open wave
  • 7:35 to 9 a.m.: waves go off 10 minutes apart

Finish Line and Post Race Area: 4 a.m. to 1 p.m.

  • Lake Shore Boulevard (westbound lanes), from the west side of Bathurst Street to the East side of British Columbia Road
  • Lake Shore Boulevard (eastbound lanes), from the east side of British Columbia Road to the west side of Remembrance Drive (at HMSC York)

10k Route - Start at 7:30 a.m. 

  • Start Line: 1944 Yonge Street, just south of Imperial Avenue 
  • Race Route: (Times: 7 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.)
  • Southbound on Yonge Street, from Davisville Avenue to Wellington Street (full road)
  • West on Wellington Street to Bay Street (full road), south on Bay Street to Lakeshore Boulevard
  • West on Lake Shore Boulevard in the westbound lanes of Lake Shore (westbound lanes only)
  • Continue west on Lake Shore Boulevard West to New Brunswick Way where they will finish (westbound lanes only)
  • Runners will finish between Newfoundland Drive and New Brunswick in the westbound lanes of Lakeshore 
  • After they finish, they will continue to walk west of the finish line to Exhibition Place to the Post-Run Area at Bandshell Park

NOTE: Southbound York Boulevard will remain open from Bremner Boulevard to Lake Shore Boulevard for egress from Maple Leaf Square.

NOTE: Spadina Ave. will remain open for the duration of the closures for north/south crossing of Lake Shore Blvd

TTC routes will be diverted in these areas. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and consider alternate routes.
