Community Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) is made up of community volunteers and police service representatives from the 51 Division’s geographic area.
The membership of the CPLC reflects the unique and diverse population served by 51 Division. Participants on committees include community representatives from racial, cultural or linguistic groups, social agencies, businesses, tenant associations, schools, places of worship, gender, youth and socio-economic status.

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest made in a threatening investigation.
It is alleged that:
on Saturday, November 26, 2022 to Sunday, November 27, 2022, multiple on-line threats were made to Metropolitan University community members
On Monday, November 28, 2022, a search warrant was executed with the Hamilton Police Service's Tactical Unit. Multiple electronic devices were seized and a man was arrested.
Usman Suhrwardy, 39, of Hamilton, was arrested and charged with:
23 counts of Uttering Threats/Death or Bodily Harm
three counts of Harassment by Threatening Conduct to Other Person
He was scheduled to appear in court at College Park Courts on Tuesday, November 28, 2022 at 10 a.m.

Members of the Toronto Police Service will be joining community group B.A.S.S.I.C (Bringing An Awareness of Senior Safety Issues To The Community) for the launch of its 2023 Safe Seniors Calendar on Wednesday November 16, 2022, at 9 a.m., at the Regent Park Community Centre, 402 Shuter Street.
B.A.S.S.I.C is a partnership between police, fire, government agencies and community groups dedicated to making seniors safer in the community. With the support of the Insurance Bureau of Canada, over 40,000 calendars will be distributed to seniors across the GTA, free of charge.
The calendar features a different safety message each month including safe driving, elder abuse prevention, mental health, emergency preparedness, fire prevention and much more. It also contains a comprehensive resource list with telephone and website addresses, to make sourcing additional information even easier.

further investigation revealed from February 2011 to October 2022, another 14 victims in the Greater Toronto Area had been defrauded in the same manner of over $400,000 combined. Five of these victims were also elderly.
On Monday, November 14, 2022, three men were arrested by members of the Financial Crimes Unit.

They will attend court on Friday, December 16, 2022, at 1000 Finch Avenue West, in room 301 at 2:30 p.m.

On Thursday, November 10, 2022, ProAction Cops & Kids launched the Monopoly: Toronto Edition board game with Toronto Police Chief James Ramer, CF Toronto Eaton Centre General Manager Sheila Jennings, ProAction Cops & Kids Board President Stephen Kouri, and Ethan, a youth ambassador from the SickKids Foundation.
Today’s event celebrated the launch of the new game and raised awareness about the positive impact each sale of the game will have on charities and communities across the GTA. For each game sold, a portion of the proceeds will be redirected to 11 charities, including the SickKids Foundation, United Way, Jays Care Foundation, MLSE Foundation, Hope Air, The Keg Spirit Foundation, Hellenic Heritage, Mackenzie Health Foundation, Campfire Circle, Toronto Zoo Wildlife Conservancy, and ProAction Cops & Kids.
