Two women arrested

The Toronto Police Service Hold Up Squad is making the public aware of an arrest made in a Home Invasion Robbery investigation.

On Tuesday, November 14, 2023, officers responded to a Home Invasion Robbery call in the Charles Street East and Church Street area.

It is alleged that:

  • the victim was inside her residence with a female acquaintance when they heard a knock on the door
  • the victim opened the door and a woman, who was known to the acquaintance, forced her way inside
  • the suspect and the acquaintance began searching the victim's drawers for valuables
  • the victim attempted to intervene when one of the suspects produced a handgun
  • the two suspects took a quantity of cash from a drawer and then fled

On Monday, November 20, 2023, the TPS Holdup Squad, with the assistance of 51 Division officers, were able to locate and take the suspects into custody.

It is further alleged that:

  • at the time of arrest, officers recovered a loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun
  • a search warrant was executed and items of evidentiary value were located and seized

Tara Finn, 35, of Toronto, has been charged with:

  1. Robbery with Firearm
  2. two counts of Possession of Proceeds of Crime
  3. Fail to Comply Recognizance
  4. Possession of Prohibited Ammunition Knowing its Unauthorized
  5. Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  6. Unauthorized Possession of a Restricted or Prohibited weapon
  7. Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  8. Possession of a Restricted Weapon Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  9. Careless Storage of a Firearm
  10. Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
  11. Possession of a Weapon
  12. Careless storage of Ammunition
  13. Possession of a Firearm Obtained by Crime

Wendy Tunde Eddy Momoh, 22, of Toronto, has been charged with:

  1. Robbery with Firearm
  2. Break Enter and Commit
  3. Point Firearm
  4. Possession of Proceeds of Crime
  5. three counts of Fail to Comply Recognizance
  6. Possession of Prohibited Ammunition Knowing its Unauthorized
  7. Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  8. Unauthorized Possession of a Restricted or Prohibited Weapon
  9. Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  10. Possession of a Restricted Weapon Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  11. Careless Storage of a Firearm
  12. Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
  13. Possession of a Weapon
  14. Careless Storage of Ammunition
  15. Possession of a Firearm Obtained by Crime

They were both scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, 2201 Finch Avenue West, Room 102.
