UPDATE,
Suspect Arrested in Shooting Investigation,
Church Street and Wellesley Street East area,
Netanel Maxyutov, 18
The Toronto Police Service is making the public aware of an arrest made in a shooting investigation.
On Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at approximately 11 p.m., police responded to a call for a shooting in the Church Street and Wellesley Street East area.
It is alleged that:
- two men became involved in an argument
- the suspect left the area and returned a short time later with a firearm
- the suspect shot and killed the victim's dog
- the suspect fled the area

Netanel Maxyutov, 18, of Toronto has been arrested, and charged with:
- Discharge Firearm Recklessly
- Possess Firearm Without Holding a Licence
- Possess Firearm Knowingly Without Holding a Licence
- Kill/Maim/Wound a Dog
He was scheduled to appear in court at Toronto Regional Bail Centre, 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at 10 a.m., in room 807.
