Ontario’s police chiefs launch provincial "Lock It OR Lose It" crime prevention campaign

On Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at 10 a.m., police leaders and officers from the Toronto Police Service, GO Transit and other police services will be joined by campaign supporters to kick off the OACP’s annual province-wide crime prevention campaign targeting auto thefts and valuables in unsecured vehicles.

Officers will be going out into the Scarborough GO Transit parking lot to check on vehicles following the media event.

The following will be speaking at the event and will be available to the media:

- Chief Jeff McGuire, Niagara Regional Police Service and President of the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police

- Inspector Dave Saunders, Toronto Police Service

- Steve Harvey, Inspector of Operational, GO Transit

- Rick Dubin, Vice-President, Investigative Services, Insurance Bureau of Canada

- Steve Sanderson, President, Accident Support Services International Ltd.

- Mark Sullivan, Head – Fraud Market Management, Interac Association/Acxsys Corporation

Under the "Lock It OR Lose It" crime prevention campaign, police officers throughout Ontario will examine parked vehicles to confirm they are locked and that no valuables have been left in plain view.
