Two lanes of Toronto's Jarvis Street at Gerrard to be closed for watermain construction

City of Toronto Media Relations has issued the following:

News Release:  March 5, 2015

Two lanes of Toronto's Jarvis Street at Gerrard to be closed for watermain construction

Two lanes of Jarvis Street from about one block south of Gerrard Street to one block north of Gerrard Street will be closed from 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 8 to approximately March 21 for watermain construction work.

Traffic on Jarvis Street will be reduced to two southbound lanes and one northbound lane.  The reversible lane will not be in operation at this location during the construction period.

Left turns will not be permitted at the intersection during the two-week period.

The watermain construction affecting this intersection is one of the final phases of the Gerrard Street watermain replacement project. The project is expected to be completed by October.

This work is part of the City's comprehensive, co-ordinated strategy to rehabilitate and upgrade Toronto's roads, transit and underground infrastructure for current and future needs.
