Voters' list now available for Toronto municipal election

City of Toronto Media Relations has issued the following:
==========================================

News Release:  September 2, 2014

Voters' list now available for Toronto municipal election

Members of the public can now confirm whether they are on the voters' list for the City of Toronto's municipal election on October 27. The list identifies eligible electors, including their name and address as well as their school support.

"Being on the voters' list ensures you receive a voter information card, which tells you when and where to vote as well as making the process at the voting place quicker and easier," said City Clerk Ulli Watkiss.

Checking the voters' list early gives residents enough time to have their names added if they are not on the list, or if they need to make changes to their information. Ensuring they are on the voters' list will save time at the voting place.

Toronto residents can check to see if their name is on the voters' list by:
• using the online tool MyVote at http://www.toronto.ca/elections/myvote, or
• visiting the City Clerk's Offices at Toronto City Hall; the Etobicoke, North York and Scarborough civic centres; or at the Election Services Office at 89 Northline Road, or
• calling 416-338-1111, and staff can provide forms and information necessary to get on the list.

If an eligible elector is not on the list, or if changes are needed, the person can complete a Voters' List Amendment application. The application will be available for download at http://www.toronto.ca/elections, or it can be mailed upon request.

Applications can be returned to Election Services in the following ways:
• delivered in person with acceptable identification to a City Clerk's Office at Toronto City Hall; the Etobicoke, North York and Scarborough civic centres; or the Election Services office at 89 Northline Rd., or
• mailed with photocopies of acceptable identification to the Election Services office, 89 Northline Rd, Toronto, ON, M4B 3G1.

More information about the 2014 municipal election is available at http://www.toronto.ca/elections.
