Lane closures on Toronto's Lake Shore Boulevard

City of Toronto Media Relations has issued the following:
==========================================

News Release:  May 20, 2014

Lane closures on Toronto's Lake Shore Boulevard

A series of intermittent lane closures will take place on Lake Shore Boulevard starting tomorrow. The lane closures will occur from May 21 to mid July for critical utility work prior to the resurfacing of Lake Shore Boulevard in preparation for the Toronto 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games.

The following areas will experience intermittent westbound lane closures from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.:
• Yonge Street to west of Rees Street
• Bathurst Street to British Columbia Road
• Parkside Drive to Windermere Avenue

The section between British Columbia Road and Lower Spadina Avenue will experience intermittent eastbound lane closures from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

In an effort to minimize disruption, most of the work will take place during non-rush-hour periods. The contractor will work some weekends and evenings to accelerate the completion of the work.

This work was planned for the roadway prior to the scheduling of the work that is currently taking place on the Gardiner Expressway. The work must be completed before the beginning of overnight closures for road resurfacing on Lake Shore Boulevard that will begin in July.
