Toronto Public Library Teen Volunteers Wanted!

Toronto Public Library is looking for two teen volunteers to help the Library to improve its services for youth!
If you are between 15 and 17 years of age you can apply to become a Teen Advisor and consult with youth across the City about the Library and its services. This is a great opportunity to build your leadership, communication, and civic engagement skills, and become involved in the Library’s strategic planning process.

What the Volunteer Does
The Teen Advisors will engage with teens across the City and consult on topics of interest to youth. After consulting with Toronto’s teens, the Teen Advisors will use the results to provide the Toronto Public Library Board with timely advice on issues of importance to youth, especially youth programs, services, barriers to youth, and potential opportunities for the Library.

  • Consult with Toronto’s youth on topics that impact youth
  • Use the results of the consultation to provide timely advice to the Toronto Public Library Board
  • Provide an annual report to the Board Liaison on youth issues and initiatives, based on consultations

  • Teen Advisors attend Youth Advisory Group meetings at branches throughout the City as appropriate, and may attend various youth-centered City events to consult broadly with Toronto’s youth population.
