Wellbeing Toronto web application upgraded with new data and features

Wellbeing Toronto, the City's award-winning web application used to measure, monitor and map community wellbeing across 140 neighbourhoods, has been upgraded with new data and user-friendly features.

The following features have been added to significantly improve the application. Users can now:
- Map multiple years of data to see how neighbourhoods have changed over time.
- Click on location points within the maps to obtain more information.
- Adjust the polarity of the indicators displayed on the maps for more advanced analysis.
- View specific types of community-based services by address.
- Access even more neighbourhood level data indicators, including information about water main breaks, Salvation Army donations, and linguistic and language diversity information.
- Watch a video explaining the tool. Step-by-step video tutorials will be added on an ongoing basis.

The upgrades were demonstrated at the Community Development and Recreation Committee meeting today and are now available for public use on the City's website at http://www.toronto.ca/wellbeing

Since the application's launch in 2011, Wellbeing Toronto has won the Municipal Information Systems Association of Canada's Excellence in Municipal Systems 2012 Partnership Award, the City of Toronto Corporate IT Award of Excellence 2011 - Project Team, and the Institute of Public Administration of Canada's 2011 Leadership Finalist Award.
